Vol. LXVII No.17

President's Report
As the year that wasn’t comes to a close, I write to update you on a number of important events as we close in on the club’s centenary year...

Old Scotch Football Club AGM
The Club’s 100th AGM was held on Wednesday 9 December at the Auburn Hotel. The club announced a modest $22,500 surplus for year, which was a terrific result in testing times. I am honoured to lead the club as it approaches its historic centenary milestone. After many sterling years of committee service we thanked and farewelled Steve Bull, and welcomed Kate Tass. Kate will take on the important membership portfolio in 2021.

Scott Montgomery Awarded OSFC Life Membership
At the recent AGM it was a great honour to award my class mate and close mate - Scott Montgomery with life membership of the club he loves so much.  In 1986, Scott Montgomery joined the Old Scotch Collegians Football Club from Scotch College as a Juniors player and played 27 Juniors games, 12 Reserves games and 109 Club XVIII games for a total of 148 games for the club covering thirteen seasons from 1986 – 1989, 1991 – 1996 & 1998 – 2000.  In 1995, he captained our Club XVIII team to only its second Club XVIII premiership and captained the team again in 1996.  After he retired from playing, Scott served on the general committee for eight years from 2007 – 2012 & 2016 – 2017.  Currently, Scott is the Executive Director of the Old Scotch Collegians’ Association.

Facilities - McQueen Park
We were delighted to learn that the pavilion refurbishments at McQueen Park are effectively completed. The Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club used the small Ratepayers Pavilion for their recent one day matches and we look forward to moving into the new facilities at the commencement of our centenary season. I take opportunity to sincerely thank the City of Boroondara for their generous investment in local sporting facilities such as ours. Retiring Gardiner Ward Councilor Coral Ross is again sincerely thanked for her outstanding support of the club over two decades.

Merry Christmas and a Happy Centenary Year
We hope to be in a position to make some exciting on and off field announcements at the commencement of 2021. All that is left to be said now is a sincere thank you for your ongoing support of, and interest in, the Old Scotch Football Club. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Centenary Year in 2021, and that you find time to do nothing over the next few weeks…

Go Cardinals!!!

Old Scotch Football Club and Kieser Join Forces
We are most pleased to announce Kieser has officially been selected as our physiotherapy service provider for 2021. Kieser will manage the entire process for us - recruiting, hiring, payroll, training and rostering their staff. Kieser is expected to provide a quality service to all our players, coaches and the club.

We will be directing all of our players to Kieser and we recommend them to the broader Old Scotch Football Club (OSFC) community for all physiotherapy services. Kieser will be providing special rates for all of our players and for all members of the Old Scotch Football Club community.

As part of our agreement, Kieser will become a silver corporate partner of the club and enjoy the benefits associated with this level. We are keen to give Kieser the opportunity to promote their service and expand their networking possibilities within the broader OSFC network.

Kieser is a unique combination of physiotherapy and clinical strength training, providing hands on physio as well as specialised strengthening programs for injury rehab, improved health and better sporting performance.

To step inside Kieser, is to step inside a physiotherapy clinic which looks very different to most private practices! This is where sports-style rehabilitation is made available to the general public. Whether it be a niggling ache or pain or a more serious musculoskeletal injury - Kieser can help!

It is with great pleasure that we join together as partners for 2021 and hopefully many years to come as there are many mutual benefits for both organisations. If you have any questions you can contact either Peter Simpson (OSFC) on 0418 382 025 or Paul Percy (Kieser) on 0407 636 043.

Save the Date: OSFC Centenary Golf Day

Join past and present players, coaches, club supporters and corporate partners for a great day of golf. A light lunch will be provided before golf and a BBQ dinner and drinks to follow. Great prizes on offer and a spectacular, soon to be announced, hole in one prize!
More announcements to be made soon. Hole sponsorship is available, details from Rob Millar - 0414 330 179

Being our Centenary, next year will be huge with a raft of social and business events teeing off with a golf event at Kew Golf Club on 22nd February which will provide you with the perfect start to the year to help launch your brand but also provide an experience you will never forget.

Despite the Pandemic, the Business Directory continues to impress and has been responsible for some significant business and trading as well as being an important employment tool for our players. The directory will continue to provide a 24/7 business platform for you to network and if you decide to take up a partnership, you may have access to even more benefits:
