Students Perform in Carmina Burana
Thursday, 2 October 2025

Last week, a group of Year 6–13 students from Samuel Marsden Collegiate School had the incredible opportunity to perform in Orff's Carmina Burana at the Michael Fowler Centre.

The students joined nearly 300 performers, including Orpheus Choir Wellington, Auckland Choral, Wellington Brass Band, and soloists Emma Pearson, Coco Diaz, and James Harrison. Under the direction of Brent Stewart, the combined performers brought this dramatic and powerful work to life, from the iconic O Fortuna to more delicate, reflective moments.

The concert opened with Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, providing a joyful and rhythmic prelude. Marsden students added energy and enthusiasm, making a memorable contribution to this epic performance.
