We began Term 4 with a warm mihi whakatau to formally welcome new students, staff and whānau to the Marsden community. Among those we welcomed were Ava, Willow and Zara in Preschool, Emily in Year 3, Aram in Year 10, and Hannah in Year 11, along with new staff members Business Director Penny Hogg and Guidance Counsellor Kaye Wilmshurst. It was wonderful to gather together for morning tea in the iCentre following the ceremony. In her address, Principal Paula Wells spoke about the importance of looking after one's hauora (wellbeing) as the term unfolds, focusing on our core value of whanaungatanga and remembering that holding self-respect is pivotal in enabling positive, reciprocally respectful relationships with those around us. With examinations and transitions ahead, Paula encouraged students to find balance and to support one another through what is both a busy and exciting time. We look forward to another action-packed and rewarding term together. |
