Year 10 Students Explore Rangoli Art for Diwali
Wednesday, 15 October 2025

This week, Year 10 students learned about Diwali traditions, including the creation of Rangoli patterns — colourful, intricate designs made from coloured powder. The patterns are often created outside the front door of houses, though some of our Marsden Hindu students say it's too windy in Wellington and they have to make the Rangoli inside!

Chaplain Sarah King provided Rangoli powder for students to try the designs themselves, giving them a hands-on opportunity to engage with Hindu culture. The activity combined learning with creativity, allowing students to experience a joyful aspect of the Festival of Lights firsthand.
