Year 7 Explores Space Place
Friday, 7 November 2025

On Thursday, Year 7 students enjoyed a fascinating morning at Space Place, diving into astronomy, space science, and hands-on learning experiences. The visit began in the planetarium, where students watched We Are Astronomers projected across the entire dome ceiling — an immersive experience that was both exciting and, at times, a little dizzying!

Students then took part in an interactive session with a Space Place educator, learning about the size, scale, and position of the planets in our solar system. The visit continued through the exhibit hall, where students explored a range of space-themed displays.

A highlight for many was lifting a real meteorite (much heavier than expected!) and feeling the vibrations of a spacecraft launch through one of the interactive exhibits.

It was a memorable and enriching trip that brought classroom learning to life and sparked even more curiosity about the universe.
