House Sport 2025
Monday, 10 November 2025

Last Friday, Marsden held its annual House Sport afternoon, and despite the threat of rain, the weather held long enough for students to enjoy a vibrant and energetic event. With senior students away for exams, the responsibility for running the programme fell to the Year 10 cohort, who embraced the challenge with confidence and maturity.

Under the guidance of Mrs. McGrath, Head of PE and Health, the Year 10 students took charge of delivering the event on the day. They led games, coordinated rotations, encouraged House spirit, umpired matches, managed scoring, and ensured the afternoon ran smoothly. Their leadership, teamwork, and initiative were evident throughout.

Students from Years 7, 8, and 9 rotated through six different sports, participating enthusiastically and demonstrating teamwork and House pride. Fair Play Awards were presented to individuals who showed exceptional support, sportsmanship, and commitment to the Marsden spirit.

At the end of the afternoon, Jellicoe was announced as the overall House Sport winner for 2024.

The event was a strong demonstration of student leadership and community, with Year 10 students stepping up to serve the school and create a memorable experience for younger learners.
