On Friday 14 November students from Preschool, Primary and Middle School visited Karori Village - Metlifecare Retirement Village to share music and joy with the residents. In the morning the residents enjoyed performances from Preschool and the Year 5 & 6 Chapel Choir, led by Mrs Coster and Mrs Gould. The tamariki performed a beautiful selection of songs including Incy Wincy Spider, Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi, Toia Mai, The Moon, and Lullaby of Birdland. Their singing filled the room with warmth, connection, and smiles all around. Later in the day the Year 7-9 choir The Larks continued the sharing of music and joy with their performances. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for our young learners to practice service in action - giving their time, energy, and enthusiasm to brighten the day of others through music. This visit linked to Preschool's inquiry focus on 'Service for Others' and the Choir's Community Outreach Program. It was a truly delightful afternoon, enjoyed by both the students and residents alike, and a meaningful example of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. ![]() Year 7-9 choir The Larks |
