Year 10 Shakespeare Day
Monday, 17 November 2025

Last Friday, our Year 10 students immersed themselves in the world of Shakespeare during our annual Shakespeare Day. The programme was designed to bring Elizabethan culture to life through hands-on, creative experiences.

Students took part in a series of rotating workshops, including drama, dance, and calligraphy. The drama sessions focused on performance technique and interpretation, while the dance workshops introduced students to traditional Shakespearean-era choreography. In calligraphy, students crafted decorative pieces inspired by historical writing styles.

A highlight of the day was the banquet-style lunch, where students enjoyed the chance to share food together in keeping with the theme of the day.

In the afternoon, each class presented a performance of the play they have been studying this term. This year's selected works were A Midsummer Night's Dream and Much Ado About Nothing. Students brought these stories to life on the auditorium stage, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and an impressive understanding of the texts.
