Marsden values on display at the Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Tree Festival
Thursday, 27 November 2025

Marsden is proud to once again support the Cystic Fibrosis Christmas Tree Festival at Wellington Airport — an event we have taken part in for the past three years. The festival raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand, the only charity dedicated to supporting people with cystic fibrosis and their whānau in Aotearoa.

This year, Marsden Primary students took the lead in designing and creating our decorations, and the result is truly something special. The students crafted hydrangeas (an official motif of Marsden) in the colours representing our five values: Whanaungatanga (Respectful Relationships), Hiranga (Excellence), Auahatanga (Creativity), Oha (Service) and Manahau (Resilience). Fittingly, every one of these values was on display throughout the creative process.

It was a real team effort:

  • Years 1–4 watercoloured the paper, building the vibrant colour base.
  • Years 5–6 completed the cutting, layering and twist-tying that brought each hydrangea to life.

On Tuesday, Head of Primary Jo Burns and Primary Term 4 student leaders Annamaria, Bianca, Angela and Lucy headed to Wellington Airport to install the tree — a proud moment for everyone involved.

If you are travelling any time between now and 8 January, or simply want to enjoy some festive cheer, the display is well worth a visit. You'll find Marsden's tree in the schools' section near the check-in area, alongside many other beautifully decorated trees and a fun treasure hunt for families.

We would love your support in the People's Choice Award. By voting for Marsden, you'll also go in the draw to win a $500 shopping spree. Vote for Marsden's tree here.
